Density
Sometimes I don’t reflect on the entire contents of a day - but when I do it is something I tend to be in awe of. Despite the spectrum of emotions that hit today, I am grateful to have been able to experience so much.
*Had coffee without feeling bad
*Bought some loose oolong tea and accompany my partner’s squishy toy hunt (it’s very serious)
*Found out, and relish in the fact that the Drug User Liberation Front won their court case (safe supply saves lives)
*Floated around in grant writing hell
*Had a fantastic sociology seminar
*Was pleasantly surprised by someone, who gave me much more good faith than I anticipated
*Ate yummy dim sum leftovers throughout the whole day
There are tons of other microcosms and things that could be of note. In what felt like a stressful and typical day in my life, it’s nice to sit here exhausted and account for all of the silly, fun, and otherwise not mundane things that happened today.
It’s quite awesome to also relish in the reality that I am merely one person refracting the experience of the world on this one day, in this one place, in this one body. In a roundabout way, this reflection as quick as it was made me more comfortable with gratitude. It can be as simple as accounting for the density of your day.
